The bus takes the Hazara Motorway (M-15) past Haripur and Abbottabad to Mansehra, then turns into the Kaghan valley through Balakot and Kaghan town to Naran. The valley road is narrow, with steep drops and busy summer traffic.
The Hazara Motorway (M-15) runs past Haripur, Havelian and Abbottabad, the cantonment city, to Mansehra. From Mansehra the road turns into the Kaghan valley at Balakot, which was rebuilt after the 2005 earthquake. Beyond Balakot it passes Kiwai, Paras and Shogran's turn-off, then Kaghan town, before reaching Naran.
The Kunhar River runs alongside the road for most of the valley section, and there are many roadside spots for tea and snacks.
Board at the Islamabad terminal on Ghazali Road, GT Road, or the Rawalpindi point on your ticket. See also our Mansehra terminal guide.
Naran bazaar area. Check the stop on your ticket.
The first half is on the motorway; the second half is a narrow valley road. Sit near the front if you get travel sick, and keep a bag for snacks and medicines at your seat. If you are travelling with children, an early departure means you reach Naran in daylight.
Late May to September is the main season. Lake Saiful Muluk is usually reachable from June, and the Babusar Pass road beyond Naran opens around June or July once the snow is cleared. In July and August, monsoon rain can cause landslides between Balakot and Naran. From November to April the upper valley is under snow and buses do not run to Naran.
Naran is a small town in the upper Kaghan valley, at about 2,400 m. It is the base for Lake Saiful Muluk, Lulusar Lake, Babusar Top and the Kunhar River, and it fills with tourists in summer.
Naran bazaar is compact and walkable. Jeeps for Saiful Muluk leave from the main bazaar; the track is steep and private cars are not allowed. For Babusar Top and Lulusar Lake, hire a car or jeep for a half or full day. Mobile signal is limited, so agree meeting points with your group.

Step-by-step help: How to book a Faisal Movers ticket.
Fake "Faisal Movers booking" numbers and WhatsApp accounts are common on social media. They take an advance payment by JazzCash, Easypaisa or bank transfer and never issue a ticket. Buy only through the official website, the Bookkaru app, the UAN 111-22-44-88 or a terminal counter, and never share an OTP, PIN or card number with a caller.
When travelling with children or elderly relatives, choose seats near the front (less motion, quicker exit at stops), carry snacks and medicines in hand luggage, and ask the hostess for help at the boarding door if someone needs assistance with steps.
