Lahore to the hills: about 7 to 8 hours via Islamabad, with listed through fares from Rs 3,791.
Murree is the closest hill station to Lahore and the most visited one in Pakistan. In summer families escape the plains heat there, and in winter people go to see snow. Travelling by bus avoids the parking problems and traffic jams that private cars face on the Murree Expressway.

Direct Lahore to Murree buses are not offered every day of the year. When a direct bus is not available, many travellers take the Lahore to Islamabad service and change to a Faisal Movers or local coach for Murree. Check both options on faisalmovers.com for your date.
The bus follows the M-2 motorway to Islamabad and then climbs the Murree Expressway past Bhara Kahu and Lower Topa. The final 60 km is a mountain road with sharp bends. Passengers who get travel sick should sit near the front.
The bus follows the M-2 with a stop at Bhera, then enters Islamabad and joins the Murree Expressway. The road climbs past Bhara Kahu, Satra Meel and Lower Topa, with pine forests and viewpoints on the way. In winter, traffic can slow near Jhika Gali and the Mall Road entrance as snow tourists arrive.
On busy weekends police may limit vehicles entering Murree; buses with tickets usually continue to the bus stand, but delays are possible.
Board at Abdullah Travels, Band Road, Lahore. In Murree the bus stops near the General Bus Stand, a short walk from the Mall Road area. See our Murree terminal guide.
The first five hours are on the motorway, so any class is comfortable. The last hour is a winding mountain road, where a seat near the front helps if you get travel sick. If you are travelling with children or elderly parents in winter, a daytime bus is safer than a late one, because roads can freeze after dark.
May to August is the main summer season, when Murree is cool and green but crowded, especially at weekends. December to February is snow season; it is beautiful but roads can close after heavy snowfall and traffic can back up for hours. March to April and September to November are quieter and pleasant. Always check the weather forecast and road updates before winter trips.
Murree was built as a British hill station in the 1850s and is still Pakistan's most popular. Mall Road, Kashmir Point, Pindi Point and the chairlift, and nearby Patriata and Nathia Gali, are the main attractions.
From the General Bus Stand area, Mall Road is a short uphill walk or taxi ride. Taxis in Murree do not use meters, so agree the fare first. Parking is very limited, which is one reason a bus is a good choice. For Patriata (New Murree) or Nathia Gali, local taxis and vans leave from near the bus stand.

Step-by-step help: How to book a Faisal Movers ticket.
Fake "Faisal Movers booking" numbers and WhatsApp accounts are common on social media. They take an advance payment by JazzCash, Easypaisa or bank transfer and never issue a ticket. Buy only through the official website, the Bookkaru app, the UAN 111-22-44-88 or a terminal counter, and never share an OTP, PIN or card number with a caller.
When travelling with children or elderly relatives, choose seats near the front (less motion, quicker exit at stops), carry snacks and medicines in hand luggage, and ask the hostess for help at the boarding door if someone needs assistance with steps.
The lowest listed through fare is about Rs 3,791. The Islamabad–Murree leg alone costs from about Rs 850.
Direct buses run on some dates, mainly in peak season. Otherwise change in Islamabad or Rawalpindi.

Usually, but it can close after heavy snow. Check before you travel.
